My second model needs grips that were checkered ,had diamond and gold medallion. If I cant get that ,than Illtake anything that will fit for now . K frame grips are numerous but not N frame grips. Anyone know a resources for this unicorn ?
Will M-1917 grips fit?
And are those longer after 1920? I thought S&W used existing frames for various N-frame guns long after WW I?

1. No DWalt meant post WWII grips/grip frames are different: they are about 1/16" longer
The correct grips you need are not that hard to find, especially relative to other styles.
There were close to 76,000 pairs produced just for the .455 BSR 1st and 2nd models, plus close to another 14,000 for the 44 Spl 1st Model TLs (not double counting the ~1300 .455 TLs numbered in the 44 TL serial # range.)
Beside the WTB adv., watch ebay and gunbroker. Don't buy the 1st pair you find, look for a pair that matches the wear on your gun. I found a pair for my .455 in a couple of days.
Are you restoring grips just for yourself or are you willing to become a replacement for DWFAN??I have a VERY rough set of the correct grips you're looking for but I haven't had time to restore them. I do most of my restoration and checkering in the winter.
Chris,
Are you restoring grips just for yourself or are you willing to become a replacement for DWFAN??
