I have a line on a 4566 on Armslist near me, I'm going to meet the guy tomorrow. He told me the gun is like new, only about 100 rounds or so through it. It has the black MIM hammer and trigger. From the pictures it does look to be in excellent condition. No box but he's including 6 magazines with it. I'm going to give him $400 for it. Seems like a good deal to me.

I think it will be nice to have along with my 1066. I'll post pictures when I pick it up.

Sounds like a good deal to me. The 4566s that recently sold on GB went for more than $500 without additional mags and not in excellent or VG condition.

On the conservative side, that is about $150 worth of mags. So, YES that is a very good deal on a VERY nice 45! Congrats! Regards 18DAI

Just be careful. It's Armslist after all. :p

That price sounds too good to be true. Hope it's for real! :)

Well, he had it listed for $550 a few months back, I remember because he's using the same pictures and I contacted him then. I offered $500 and he declined. Then the other day it popped up again, now he only wants 400. I sent him a message from the same email hoping he didn't remember that I'd pay $100 more for it. I'm guessing he didn't have any bites and forgot about it. No one really wants a heavy steel .45 that is hard to get parts for. So far so good, we'll see tomorrow morning. Yea I think it's an excellent deal and I know the mags are expensive.

If there is nothing wrong with the pistol?

Then that is a good deal. I love the 4566s. I have two of them. Just make sure that there is nothing wrong with the gun and you should be good.

Not that I can tell, from the pictures it appears like new and he said only 2 boxes of ammo have been put through it. I do believe it, I don't think most people except the ones on this forum are interested in an old 2 1/2 pound 45 with no rail on it. I have a knack for coming across things like this....

That's a great deal in my neck of the woods, even without the mags. On the very rare occasion one pops up for sale, they go for a minimum of $550-$600. I got lucky and snagged my 4566 on GB for $380. The auction had terrible pics and ended at something like 4AM, guess that eliminated a lot of the last minute snipers. The grips were beat to death, but other than that the gun ended up being damn near mint.

I got it! It truly is a like new gun. I can only find a couple scratches on the slide and grips. Only got 5 mags instead of six but I'm not complaining at all. Two of them appear not to have been used. One is a yellow follower, not sure if that's a bad thing or not. It's got a set of dead NS on it. The only thing I noticed is the slide isn't as tight to the frame as my 1066, but for what I paid I don't really care. Shouldn't be a problem anyway. All in all I'm really happy I found this one.. I figure the mags are about $50 each on the open market, so I got a $750 pistol when it was brand new for $150 in like new condition. Can't really beat that.

Nice! That's a working pistol, not a precision target pistol, so I would not let a little play in the slide fit worry me. You got one heck of a great deal.
