LGS has a 459 with a trigger that acts like the mag is removed. (when installed). Could this be related to a broken disconnecter tip? I'm just becoming familiar with the 3rd gens, so 2nd gens should be similar? What are the first things to check?
Thanks, Mike
I moved this to "S&W Smithing"

There are alot of things with a pistol that old. I was just at my LGS and they had a 4506 that the trigger just free played and would not drop the hammer. When I took the slide off, the ejector plunger spring had worn through the plunger. The 459 you are looking at probally needs taken apart and cleaned with new springs and checked for worn parts.

Thanks, and agree this pistol was not in great shape neglect, corrosion. It needs a total strip, & inspect, with new springs to do it right.
Thanks, Mike
