I used AR for use in a .455 Webley which worked great and was a really well made pistol. AR was really hard to find 50 years ago.

Didn’t Remington Peters produce .45 Auto Rim? I don’t remember not being able to find it, but maybe that was forty years ago.

Starline makes the brass currently and it's usually available. I'm still using some Remington Auto Rim brass, but I don't know if they still make it or loaded ammo. Much better than having to deal with clips.

When I use half moon or full moon clips I have to "jiggle" them a little to load them into the cylinder and sometimes, like after the cylinder is dirty from shooting a lot of rounds, though the ejector pushes the empties nearly all the way out, they sometimes hang up a bit.
The first problem is likely due in part to the advanced arthritis in my hands but it doesn't happen when using the two round clips and after the cylinder is dirty the empties hang up less when I eject them.

I guess so. Every situation is not self defense-related. Some like to shoot targets leisurely.

Starline has done yeoman service supporting loaders with obsolete brass.... now if we could just get them to run .25-20 Winchester.....

But it's a small family run operation so it can take a while for them to complete an order.

No worries. As I've aged and deteriorated I've had to modify some of my routines and techniques to continue shooting.

A friend that shoots several obsolete calibers turned me on to them and I've bought all brass shotgun shells from them a couple times.
They're nice heavy duty shells made from solid brass bar stock and, unlike Magtech all brass shells, use standard size wads and primers.
Money well spent.
