So I have a mid size 45 1.0, a Shield 45, and now a 45 2.0 Compact - which is not compact but actually the same size as the mid size 45 1.0.

I love all three guns but would like to get the compact as well. There are plenty of 1.0's out there still and I'm tempted to get one but would love a 2.0 if there is going to be one.

I've searched for news and rumors but have yet to see anything that makes me think it's close. Any thoughts?

Same boat here. I feel like the instant I buy a 1.0 version, SW will announce the 2.0. I should probably just make the sacrifice for the good of everyone else.

It's hard to beat the M&P 45 1.0s, either C or FS. I'd prefer a 1.0 C that than be transformed into a mid, or full, size vs. a 2.0 that can only be a mid or full size. I'm not sure a 2.0 FS slide will work on a 2.0 "compact" frame or vice versa. I'll run my 1.0s up against a 2.0 any day. Doubt there's a hill of beans difference between the two.

A Gen 1 M&P45c was the first M&P pistol I ever had. I got it second hand with a Apex FSS and slide/grip work done by Bowie. Foolishly, I traded it away...

Anything for a time machine!

I too have the 1.0 midsize 45 and love it. As you know, the grip is just a little too long to conceal well. The 1.0 45c is a great carry gun, but so it the 2.0 40 Compact. They are basically this same size but the 40 holds five more rounds and that is hard to overlook. This has been my dilemma ever since the 2.0 45c came out. That and I can find a brand new 2.0 40 Compact for less money that a used 1.0 45c. Decisions, decisions.

M&P45c comparison

Here's some photos of my 45c compared to M2.0 9 compact, basically the same size. The 45c is a fine shooting pistol. Don't think I'd want the more aggressive grip texture of the M2.0

I will be honest here, I did not do enough homework when I ordered the M2.0 45 Compact. I thought it was the new 45c. I compared the specs on S&W website, they were similar so I ordered sight unseen - having handled the M2.0 9 compact I was sure that's what I was getting.

Having said that I do love the M2.0 45 Compact as is. It's just not compact!

My 1.0 45c with apex sear out shoots my 1911. It's very accurate and has never failed me. It is one of my two favorites.
David.

I took my LTC course with my 45c. Since then I've bought another just because I love the way they shoot. I've got plenty of 8-round, 10-round with X-Grip and 14-round with X-Grip magazines. Very versatile guns.

I picked up a Gen 1 45c today for $325 with both mags and the 3 grips. It shows very little use. I've been on the fence for a while to see what, if anything, happens in version 2.0. I could not pass up the deal.

Love the one I just bought!! Talon grips should be your next move if not already equipped - I like both styles and chose the granulated for mine.
