I picked up a 5 screw 44mag in real nice shape for a very fair price. I am a little concerned that there is a small rub mark on the frame where the cylinder will contact it during rotaion when the cylinder is swung all the way out, it has left a small bare spot on the frame. Is this a sign that the crane is bent outward or ??? I don't plan to shoot it, just keep it in the safe (even thought the action is SLICK and a joy to squeeze)but if it needs fixing I'd like to get it fixed. Was this a common thing on 5 screws?

Could you post a pic of the area you are referring to?

Is the wear on the lug that prevents the cylinder from sliding off when in the gun?

If I remember correctly, the cylinder hit the frame when swung all the way out on most all the smiths I have owned over the years. Be careful, particularly with blue.

Best
