The last year or two I've bought and traded for quite a few pristine 5 screw S&W, Colts and old Winchesters; but this lastest venture is different . . It's not pristine, wasn't expensive and is really nothing special; but I'm thrilled all the same if not more. .

It's an old police revolver that was issued brand new and maintained by the officer when he retired and he kept it all these years since, up until he went to a nursing home . . I bought it from a gunsmith friend of his. .

Soon as I looked at the pictures it had my attention so I followed up with a phone call to the gunsmith. . Everything checked out great as well as an excellent bore. . I asked him the price and he said $100 plus taxes and shipping . . $150 to my door. . Last Friday was a good day . .

Nice!! If the original owner is alive, I'd see if I could spend some time with him one day and tell him you got it and how you will take care of it and think of his service when you shoot it. Give him thanks and find a treat that he would appreciate if he is capable of receiving visitors and treats. JMO

A visit would mean alot to the old gentleman. He could tell you great stories that would add value to the revolver. Sonora

That was an incredible find.

Think of the stories that revolver would tell if it could talk!

I'll be speaking to the gunsmith again and will learn more about the older gentleman. . The distance is too far for a visit. .
