50-50

One more comparison if you could have a look, both described as very good. Both the same price and both have pinned barrels and I assume recessed chambers ?

Model 19 or model 65 ?
Thanks in advance

I have a PTA (permit to acquire) that runs out soon ! Cheers

If they are the same price the M19 is the better deal.

As a range toy a 6" would be ok, but if you intend to carry it in the woods, range, etc, the 4" M65 is far handier.

Ok thanks for the heads up ! He has this model 27 with a "light" ring in the barrel for $450au or $310 US . Was wondering if it could be re-barrelled for a reasonable cost ?
Cheers

Here in the US market, provided there is no hidden damage not shown in the pic., that nickel model 27-2 would be a steal, ringed barrel and all, at $300.00. It might shoot good as is, and barrels are not to hard to find in the US - Not sure about down under.

I'd go against the tide here and get the 686. The "Talo" part doesn't move me but I like the full underlug and have no problem with the weight, even off hand.

Interesting, I thought it looked absolutely pristine until I read about the ring, I only have the one post 1946 permit at the moment and not sure if I should buy this and get a new barrel installed or just get a gun I wont need to change. The price and the look of it makes it tempting !
Thanks for your thoughts, cheers

Thanks Al, I have never shot anything over 4 inches so it would be an eye opener I'm sure, cheers
