52-2 problem

I have a 52-2 that will not set the trigger after firing a shot. Any ideas???

Will it set if hand cycled? If it does perhaps your loads are too light. If not it needs some smithing.

The disconnect is the most likely culprit. Clean the disconnect and perhaps your problems will disappear.

Might backoff on the trigger over travel just the smallest amount, too.

Your pre-travel screw may be adjusted to close to the reset point.

if I hold the trigger pulled and cycle the slide by hand it will not set the hammer. I would like to know what happens after the trigger is pulled and the sear is operated to release the hammer, that allows the sear to set the hammer again.

The slide must fully cycle and reset the disconnecter. If your load is too weak it will not fully cycle.
