52-2 troubles **Soultion post 23

That’s a very interesting nugget.

At the same time, not sure where on this planet I would ever find a Sig Hammerli 240. 🤷‍♂️

Tell you this however— knowing that I already have a slew of magazines that will work, it definitely makes me hope I find a 240 some day for affordable dough!

Troystat, do you have a Sig/Hammerli P240?
Just coincidental, I have a Sig Hammerli P240, cal 38 SPL WC. Hunters House in Copenhagen sells them. Cal .22, Cal .32 and the cal .38.

His picture does not show any extractor. His picture shows the ejector. And… the original poster who attached the pictures has already replaced the ejector shown in the pictures.
The pictures I saw were most certainly of an extractor, not the ejector. Apparently there are not one but two threads referenced in this posting, the current one and one from a couple of years ago. My comment re the extractor was to the earlier post that had multiple pictures posted. As I explained the pictures of the extractor were quite grainy and difficult to make out, but the extractor did not appear to be in the best condition in that photo. I know the difference between an extractor and an ejector, but thanks anyway.

Rick & Sevens, you both are correct. Rick looked at my original post from July 20, 2022 where I had posted a pic of the extractor. I ruled out the extractor after seeing the ejector tip was chipped. This thread was focusing on the ejector which is what Sevens comments are referring to. Thank you to both!

I do believe I've solved the issue. In post 10 above you'll read that the new ejector didn't correct the problem. I had a sense that the speed of the slide was indicating the source of my problem. There seemed to be a slight drag when I manually pulled the slide with the nickel gun that the blue gun didn't have. Both guns were cleaned and lubed so I over lubed the nickel and that seemed to help a bit but there was still some drag. After a closer examination of both ejectors I discovered that the new ejector in the problem gun had a higher point that rubbed the bottom of the slide. I stoned (filed) the point of the ejector to relieve the tension against the slide. Cleaned the guns and took them to the range. The results are that I now have 2 fully functional M52-2's! I put 5 mags thru the problem gun without 1 FTF or FTE. Happy camper!

Thanks to everyone who posted suggestions!
