An acquaintance at church approached me and asked if I was interested in purchasing a 6" nickel 586 no dash in 95%+ shape. No M stamp. It is a very nice looking gun, with immediate eye appeal if you like the full lug. No real hickeys but original stocks are not on it. I have never even held one of these before and he has asked me if I had an idea on value as he does not.

I am guessing 6-8 hundred but GB finished auctions are all over the place. Any opinions would be appreciated. No pics available.

Paid 750 shipped from a member here about a year or so ago. 100% ANIB, though, so without the grips and shipping it might be in the lower end of your guess. I really don't know how many were made. I don't think they are rare, but I don't think they are that common either. Hope this helps a bit. Anyone else know the production on them ?

llowry61,
Thanks for the info. Luckily this one is local so no shipping. I just never have seen a nickel 586.

I bought a 6" nickel 586-1 no M stamp, non original stocks, no box, in 95% condition for a little over $500 in a no reserve GB auction not to long ago. Sometimes you get lucky.

Your $600-800 is a fairly good range, I would say $700 and call it a day.

It's a 6" (short barrels are all the rage these days) and without the wood Target stocks, so I think its value depends on its degree of 95 percent-ness :). At 95% I'd guess $550, and perhaps $650 if 98-99%.

I bought my dash 3 this year off GB for more than that but have enjoyed it as much as if not more than any other firearm I've ever owned :D

There is one on gunbroker right now, a 586 no dash nickel with 15 bids and 9+ days left for $900. It has box, docs, and stocks though.
