I have a 586 no dash no M (1982 vintage)
recently while shooting 125gr 357's the cylinder locked up, I was able to open it safely. I am not the original owner and probably have a combined 500-600 rounds of 38 special or 158 gr 357's thru it. This is the first time I have encountered this and it was with the 125gr. The gun is in overall excellent condition otherwise.
Now my question, I know their is a Modification for the 586 and that Smith will do it reportedly for free.
Is there anything else that I should have them check or are their any other modifications that might be worth while if it is already in their shop.
I am willing to pay for tuning/etc if that is in my best interest while it is their.
Also, any contact info appreciated.
And, someone told me it has to ship back to them using an FFL - is this true
Thanks in advance for any help
