5906 magazine release.

I purchased a 5906 from Gunbroker a few months ago. I think the only way I could improve this pistol would be to install an extended magazine release. I did a search on this forum that went back to a 2016 post entitled; Model 915 Extended Mag release? It was suggested to check Midway and Numrich.
I checked Numrich and contacted Midway. I had no luck with either company. Would anyone have any ideas if there's an extended magazine release available for my 5906?

A 745 nut will work. Ed Brown also made one back in the day.

Mine felt gritty and mags started sticking , replaced the spring and plunger . Button can also be adjusted there is You tube videos if they haven't been black flagged

The mag release nut for the model 439 is taller (extended?) than the nut for the 5906, but is the same thread.

Midway has them on clearance right now.

Yep, I thought that one looked taller. I've had that one in the shopping cart for awhile. I just hadn't pulled the trigger. Thanks.

I think they also had the model 745 mag release nut (with the bigger head) that Brother jsbethel pictured in his post (on the left).

I ordered one of those 439 nuts.

I installed the 439 mag release on my 6906. Makes a world of difference.

I got my new 439 mag release nut installed yesterday. The original nut was .131" tall and the new 439 nut is .193" tall. It works great.
