Not really that important, but I bought this 5906 new in 1994, just a standard 3rd gen as far as I can tell. I've seen other models described as 5906, but with the front of the trigger guard squared. Is the squared version a TSW, or a completely different generation ? Thanks!

I believe they came with either a round or square trigger guard depending on when they were made. Nice gun!

My understanding is that the early 3rd gens right out of the Automatic Improvement Program had squared trigger guards. They then phased them out to the rounded trigger guard. That 5906 is in great shape.

Nice picture of a 5906 in great shape.

During the 2nd gen 469 they changed from the round trigger guard (1st) to the squared (2nd). That trigger guard continued into the 3rd gen 5906 for awlile and then went to the larger rounded trigger guard that yours has (3rd).

There are some pictures of the different trigger guards in order here.

Thanks for all the great info everyone!

It's been in a case except when I fired 75-100 rounds through it for my CPL class back in 2002 :)

Thanks for the link snw19_357. Very informative - mine must have been manufactured later - s/n VCV19xx.
