5906 recoil spring help

I got a new recoil spring for my 5906. Not sure what I need. The new spring is along the bottom of the second photo.

What you need is a new guiderod. that guiderod thingy you have there is an old aftermarket part called the Menck Impact Buffer. It was a well made and well thought out idea but never really caught on unfortunately. So, to go with your new spring, I suggest you go buy one of these while they are still in stock.

And mothball that Menck part. No parts are available for that unit anymore.

I have one of those things too but mine lives in the "unused curiosity parts bin" most of the time.

This one is for a 4566.
