I am trading into a Md 5946 and I do not like a DAO gun. Is it possible to remove the DAO feature on this gun and make it a traditional DA? Thanks.

Not on the original DAO models, which are the ones with the round firing pin retainer (safety lever). The TSW series, with the odd-shaped retainer, are modular and can be switched back and forth.

Not possible to change it back unless it is a TSW. If it is a TSW, it will say that in large letters on the slide.

This is true if you are discussing the current (or late) model TSW's, the first versions were not convertable as they had the same action/slide/safety as the other early DAO guns.

If you are just disposed against DAO generally, and not specifically the original 3rd gen DAOs, you might want to shoot it first before messing with it. You might find that you like it.
