Safariland 295; when I wore a uniform eighteen years ago I wore a Safariland 070 holster because I could not find a 295. I grew to really like the 070 and could draw it as fast as a level 1 holster

Yeah. 295. Standard NYPD issue until like 5 years ago. Several gun grab attempts made the paper and the 295 was gone. New holster has that thumb pivot hood or something followed by a rocking motion and pull upward. One step away from needing a PIN number to get the gun out, if you ask me.

YES, there is such a thing as TOO MUCH retention. My personal policy was that they might get my gun. But they would get the bullets first.
