6" Model 41

Back in my Bullseye shooting days, I owned a 6" barrel that had been cut by Jim Clark. This was a standard offering to match the same sights as on one of his Long Heavy Slide M1911 45s. Both had Bomar ribs and sights on them.
I would imagine he would cut 7 3/8" barrel down to 6" for anyone who ordered one.

Slap a tape on it when it comes in ... That will tell the tale .

Some folks don't know how to correctly measure a barrel length so it gets listed incorrectly .
I have a model 41 with a 5 " heavy barrel and the longer 7 1/2" bbl. with the screw on muzzle device (?), I shoot the short heavy barrel better ... so nuch for that old saying ... longer barrels are more accutate ... go figure !

Very nice score with the model 41 ...
it's one of my favorite 22 handguns !

Your long barrel should be 7 3/8" and not 7 1/2"
Also, the shorter barrel, if it's a heavy barrel, is 5 1/2" not 5."
A 5" barrel is the lighter contour field barrel.

Thanks ... I'm going to write that down ...
5 1/2 " Heavy Barrel - 7 3/8" for the long barrel ...

Getting old and numbers are the first thing that go ...

The firearm should be here Monday of Tuesday next week. I will be happy even if it is 7". But, if it is factory 6", that would be amazing.

I was able to talk to a representative of Smith & Wesson and was informed the firearm was shipped in 1993 with a SEVEN INCH BARREL. So, I am expecting it to have the same when it arrives. Okay by me. I will definitely enjoy years of shooting it and then handing it down to a family member.
