610 site re-install help

Hi Guys-I just got my 610-2 6 1/2 back from S&W after some work-tune and chamfering-and evidently, while in shippment, the red inserted site punched through the inner box, and was jerked out of the site base. I see the spring loaded sliding horizontal pin in the rear; what is the best way to get the sight back in-does the front pin have to be removed, and if so, how? Thanks, Flapjack.

I'm assuming this gun has the interchangeable front sight system. You should be able to slide the back side of the sight down into the groove, than push it against the spring until the front will slide down into the groove, than the spring tension will force the sight ahead against the front pin to hold it in place. Sometimes tolerances are pretty close and it will take a bit of wiggling but it should go with out taking anything apart.
