617 Back from S & W just now

Got my 617 back, have not had a chance to shoot it yet. It was sent in for the rear sights bottomed out already and was shooting high. Also was a couple of dings on the front of the cylinder. They replaced the cylinder, rear sight and they cut the forcing cone. I don't know what cutting the forcing cone was about. Anxious to shoot it!

Wow, what a coincidence just got my new 617 back yesterday. Same sight issue. They replaced it with a lower sight and returned the original.

Mine also had a over rotated barrel . They corrected this. I am shooting mine this weekend. Good luck with yours
