Here's my new to me 625. Camera phone not sot hot.

She shots and handles like a dream. Came with 4 half moon clips so I suspect she wasn't shot too hard.

89 views with zero comments? GUess my phone cam really does suck! lol

Note to self: don't post anymore fuzzy pics and look for comments.

I had one of those. I wish I had kept it. It was one of the most accurate revolvers I ever shot. I hope to get another one day. Nice find!!!

I found one of those at a OGCA show last year. It is a winner! I really cannot make up my mind which of my two 625's I like best. Since I have Red Dots on them both, sight radius doesn't really enter in to it. Both shoot EXTREMELY well.

I won't post a photo twice in one night (don't want to be "tacky"

) so I'll just post the post number for anyone that hasn't seen it:

At any rate, these late 625's seem to be stellar revolvers. I have two friends who bought 4" 625-8 JM Specials after they saw mine and I have had the pleasure to shoot each of them. They will ALL shoot with the best.

The .45 ACP and .45 Auto Rim with their small capacity seem to be REALLY easy to load for target performance. It is hard to get anything but great performance from them. Further, with the modern 25's and 625's you can slightly exceed original .45 Colt ballistics if you need it. What's not to like?

At least that has been my experience.

My son promises me he'll take a better shot.
It deserves better than this I know.

I transferred the phone cam pic to my computer then uploaded it to photobucket to create a URL for it.

My preliminary practice rounds have all been shooting double action from about 25 yards and I've been real impressed with this .45 wheel gun. From the bench I was able to get some really tight groups.

She's a keeper! Thanks for the kudos.

Very nice 625, I seem to enjoy them myself,
I have one 3in, 4in,5in, a 625 Mountain gun and just picked up a 625JM
I was watching a 625-2 on Gunbroker and I see it sold for $880 !!!!!

My favorite revolver in 45 ACP. Check out RIMZ moon clips you wont be sorry.

Nice collection Iowa. I've been following some listings and feeling better and better about my buy. Do you handload or use factory ammo?

Lev, I'll have to try the RImz out, although I'm not having too much difficulty with spinning the rounds off the half moons.

Capn, I mostly reload Auto Rim brass, infact I don't even have any 45acp brass here, That all got lost last year in a flood. I have a bunch of full moon clips so I will be looking into getting some more ACP brass but, not a real high priority right now. A 255gr SWC with 6.0 grains of Unique shoots very well out of my 5 incher..

Gotcha Iowa- sorry bout the flood part. Yikes

Ishoot- it measures 4" which I am really starting to enjoy the balance she offers me.

CapNrocks, maybe it's the photo, but that really looks like a 5". Are you measuring from the front (barrel side) of the cylinder, or from the front of the frame?

I don't mean to sound like a smart a, but lots of folks measure from the frame, which isn't correct.

Nice gun, either way!

Did not ignore your post -- only get to log on weekly. I have one of those 625's and is by far my favorite. Like to shoot fairly light 185 'home made' semi-wadcutters and it is great fun

CapNrocks, if you got that 625 from Ed's and the serial number ends in 9017, it's one I traded in a few weeks. It's an excellent shooting revolver. I had two 625's and this one was surplus in my safe. The 625 has been shot almost exclusively with lead. I had good results with 200 gr SWC but also liked to shoot 255 SWC. I usually shot using .45 Auto Rims cases. None of my loads are hot. I doubt there had been more than one box of factory hardball shot through that 625. I glad it found a good home-it is an excellent shooter.

I kick myself every time I think about it, but it hasn't been a year ago I passed on a 625-1989 for $485.
