A guy has one locally and he's asking $1100 for it. He doesn't really even know what it is I think. He's calling it a 6" ported barrel instead of a 5" compensated barrel. He just has the gun. Nothing else. The gun is in average condition, but I'm sure I could polish it out nicely. It has the JM grips. I feel like he's asking too much for just the gun. I'd like to have it to compliment my slab side 627PC, but I don't know what the value of the gun would be or what to offer. I don't want to insult the guy, but I think $1100 is too high.

Agreed, $1100 for just the gun, in average condition, and nothing else, is about $200-$300 too much.

I offered $900 and I still felt that was too much. He came down to $950 but won't come off that price. I told him if he changes his mind to let me know. I've been watching GB for one, but all I ever see are the two-tone versions. I'd lime to get the all stainless version Luke this guy has to finish out the PC set. But I'm not willing to go more than $900 on that gun.

The local Cabela's has one in their gun library for $750. It is the two tone model with the PC box and assessories. With tax it would come to about $795 OTD.

I'd rather have the all stainless model. But that's a good price though. Cabela's probably won't transfer to another state though.

Ok, yep in decent condition for the all stainless model I would not go more than 750-800 and that is in decent good condition if it has a decent amount of wear and marks I would stick to under 700. Also, cabela's will transfer guns to another state's store, have done it before.

The closest Cabela's to me is still in other state. The Cabela's in my state is 4 hours away.

that's OK

even though the closest cabelas is 4 hours away should be OK. they should allow you to buy the gun and have it shipped to your FFL, you will have to pay sales tax on the gun since they have a store in your state. A quick call to the selling cabelas store will confirm.

Worth a shot I suppose.

Which Cabela's store is the gun located now? I looked through their gun library online and didn't see the gun listed.

try to contact this member, I don't know his location. I checked cabelas website as well, didn't see it.

cabelas uses guns international as a selling point, try and search on that site as well, it will list the selling store in the listing.

I found a (GASP) colt anaconda ad that was just listed today by cabelas and I can't find that either on the main site.

My 627-3 Vcomp was I believe 1050 but looks in new condition with the wood grips PC case that has never been locked, and everything from the factory and the cardboard box that the PC case originally shipped in

I ended up passing on the gun. Thanks for the info from everyone though.

For what it's worth, a friend sold a pre-Lock 627 V-Comp complete w/Aluminum PC Case & all "Goodies" to an out-of-state individual for $1,310 including shipping from our FFL back in Feb., 2011. Hope this helps. Paulie686.
