Well, after seeing the pictures and reading the post of the 629 snubbies, I decided that I had to have one. Then last week a shop which I frequent received one in on trade. A quick phone call and I was told that it was already on hold for someone. After a few quick 4 letter words under my breath, I asked if I could place a second hold on it, just in case. Five days later, a quick phone and they told me that no, the first party never came in and if I wanted it, it was mine. For those who are interested, this is not a Lew Horton but came direct from S&W. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but I can why everyone likes theirs. I really had thought about taking my 629-1 6" and having the barrel cut but I had purchased it new and it has accounted for more then few Michigan white-tails. Now to order out a holster. Thanks Guys!

No, it's a BAN prefix. I called Lew Horton and they told me that it wsn't one of theirs. A call to S&W told me that it was shipped in 1988.

Nice one. There is no better looking revolver than a 3" N-Frame.

No difference between a Lew Horton 629 and yours. Great revolver. I'd suggest changing out them grips for rubbers when shooting full house magnums as my 3" 629 drew blood quickly with the fancy combats that IMO are horrible for shooting.

Congrats.
