This is a yesterday find at a pawn shop in Chattanooga. This shop has produced a 686 CS-1, and a few other keepers. They research Gunbroker and quickly throw it in their gun display. Some stuff is stubbornly overpriced and some is underpriced, if you know what to look for. This has the smooth cylinder and combats, is it a Lew Horton? I paid $980 for it OTD. I feel like I did pretty good on it?

I feel you did "pretty good" also. By the way...thanks for posting the purchase price very helpful!

At $980, looks like they used the Blue Book instead of GB. Great score! The 3" 629 is a great gun, I have 2 of the 3" non-lug versions from Lew Horton.

That is a great price on a heck of a nice gun!
If I'm not mistaken, it may have been called a classic hunter
I've seen a few of them before and they all had the longer stop notches which technically shouldn't be seen until the dash 2E
