Once again what does a 2" revolver need with adjustable sights?
Only in the movies and on TV did I see that.
Highway Patrol show saw the guy shoot one at someone at least a 100 yards away and hit the bad guy.....
My 2 in adjustable sighted Smiths of all calibers allow me to adjust POA to POI.............Barrel length is irrelevant.

I have popped balloons at 50 yards with a snubbie. Yes, I missed a few shots but once I learned the hold-over, I more often than not hit one.

Never tried a 100 yard shot though.

Bob Munden used to do some long-range shooting with a snubbie on several episodes of Am Shooter. Probably on youtube.

Adj sights doesn't HAVE to be long-range shooting either. When I teach a female just starting shooting, I always mention, "You may have to make a precise shot from 10-20 yards. What if your husband (or kid) has a knife held to their throat? What then?"

I have both adj & fixed sights on my 2 & 3 inch guns. I much prefer the adj sights for the reasons above.

Not sure and I wouldn't know how to tell.

Doubtful it's sleeved, IMO.

Making SURE the gun is empty & cylinder left open, one can look at the muzzle & see the sleeving on those guns that have them.

Dash 2s were made from 1961 to 1969, so sleeved bbls on Smiths were virtually unknown then. I know rifle bbls were sometimes sleeved, but I think that was to replace a worn out bore or to go to a smaller caliber. Someone smarter than me can fill in those blanks on when & why sleeving began.

ETA: here's a pic of a sleeved bbl on a Smith. Note the border showing on the muzzle.

In addition to the already-mentioned advantage of being able to ensure the point of aim matches the point of impact, adjustable sights are much more visible, and can thus be acquired more quickly.

Shoot a 2" Model 10 and a 2" Model 15 and the difference becomes immediately apparent.
