Does anyone know where I can buy a factory scope mount for a 629-6 7.5" that has the 4 holes and mounts on the barrel without removing the rear sight? I am coming up with nothing. I think the gun came with a mount from the factory, and I am not having any luck finding anything available in the aftermarket. As you can see in the pic there is a "platform" that the base should mount to and it uses 4 screws. Any help would be appreciated.

The sku # is 170181

Your Light Comp Hunter is a sweet gun. The Performance Center did a great job on these guns. I doubt you'll find what you need from the aftermarket. Have you tried calling the S&W factory? There's a good chance they'll have extras. You can see in this pic of my Black Comp Hunter what the rail looks like.

If you can't find a factory mount, a gunsmith or machinist should have no trouble making one out of a picatinny rail blank. Brownells sells them for about $30.

I haven't called Smith yet, but I will definitely try that. Is the bottom of the mount just flat, or is it shaped some other way to mate to the "rib" on the barrel? I do see that there is a step where it transitions to the top strap from the barrel. Cool looking gun! How do you like that scope? That will be my next question once I either find or make a mount. Thanks!

Here's a pic of what you're missing. I'm really liking the Bushnell on it. I was using 3x magnification in it today and clear as a bell. Very lightweight too.

I called Smith and got the part. For reference the part number is 2477950000, and the part number for the kit is 3013725. I couldn't google these part numbers so they may be Smith's internal part numbers. Thanks for all the help!
