629-6 Box Codes

Hi

I have always been curious about codes on the box that came with the gun. Most are easy to figure out. On the Fired Case Enclosed label it has the product number and then after that it has shlcasrv and then CS.S 04-05. I always thought it was some S&W internal codes or something? Just wondering what they mean? Anyway it is great gun. Thanks for the information.

All the cases with the Fired Case Label have that same "shlcasrv" on them. What ever it means, it not unique to any one gun in particular, since all the boxes have it on them. Even semi-auto's.

I'd suspect those other markings are some kind of inventory tracking number. Perhaps, saying what rack & shelf in the warehouse the gun was stored at. Maybe and acceptance number, indicating the gun was received and logged into inventory. Something like that. I doubt it has any meaning in the present. Just my guess.
