What are you carrying today?

I currently EDC a black S&W M&P9 2.0, with an Apex trigger (set by my gunsmith 6.1 pounds, the S&W M&P9 2.0 factory standard trigger pull), a SilencerCo 4.61" threaded bbl, and original iron sights; in a Blackhawk IWB leather holster (hard to find now, once imported from Italy by Blackhawk at one time).
I carry three 17-round magazines loaded with 115-grain solid copper hollow-point SuperVel ammunition.
Over the years, I have carried a S&W 39-2. I still occasionally carry my 5906, 6906, 4506-1, or 4516

That's convenient actually; because in Canada, although you are a pistol enthusiast as much as the next guy, own 14 pistols, and shoot PPC competitively, you can't choose to legally carry a concealed handgun for self protection anyway, since your government has already made the choice on your behalf not to carry a gun in public.

I'm going to the ATM later today and will be carrying an M&P .40 in a horsehide Super Tuck, and I'll be taking my wife to a nice restaurant this evening, so I'll be pocket carrying an M&P 9c; because I choose to, and I don't see any health benefits in not carrying a gun in public.

I'm quoting myself, and here's why.

I just returned from the bank lobby ATM where I was almost robbed by the guy who is pictured below, who ran into the locked ATM lobby (it's Sunday) when I unlocked the door from inside by using the electrical door unlocking push panel while I was leaving.

He bum rushed right in, and had he not become aware that I was armed, I was going to be assaulted and robbed.

I was careful of my surroundings both when entering the locked lobby and leaving, except for the few seconds when I was distracted by pushing the poorly placed exit control and looked away from the glass lobby door and glass panels, which means he had concealed himself before the incident.

I live in an excellent neighborhood where crime is nearly non existent.

I followed him in my car to get pics, but since I don't know the rules of this board, I'm only posting one in which he covered his face as he left the scene, but I've got some in which his face is clearly seen.

I'll be at the bank tomorrow to speak with the manager about what happened today, without mentioning certain details I believe are unneccessary, but if they've got audio-visual surveillance of the ATM lobby; oh well.

Always carry, even in locations you believe to be "safe".

I'm in a wheelchair and made a special homemade under the seat rig for my 19-3, 4 inch. Worn condition but, butter smooth trusted and true if and when needed. I don't want anything of high value locked up in litigation for years to follow!!!!S&W 19.webp

I agree.. i hear in some Jurisdictions you won't get your Weapon back. regardless.

Same as every day. A P365 in a DeSantis IWB. I'm not into "carry rotation." I'm just borrrr-ing, I guess. Same-o, same-o. :censored:
Actually Krogen, I believe you're doing the right thing. A former Russian army officer and serious (amateur) IDPA competitor once told me, "Don't be a gun of the month guy. Just learn to shoot one CCW handgun extremely well." I took his advice.

I'm in Canada and am going to the doctor today to live. So I'm getting my heart taken care of which statistically is what will kill me at 62 not some fictitious gun fight because of what I did or didn't choose to carry on that trip. How many friends have you lost to civilian gun fire versus heart attack/stroke events? Look I'm a pistol enthusiast as much as the next guy. I own 14 pistols, shoot PPC competitively and smith them all. I just don't see the health benefits of carrying a gun in public.

It's been a while since I visited this thread, so I'm catching up on posts. I hope your doctor's visit went well. But I'm also getting the popcorn ready for all of the posts that I'm sure are to follow. Questioning the wisdom of everyday carry on this already no end in sight, Red, White, and Blue celebration of Americana? Enjoy the show!

I currently carry a S&W Shield Plus with a flush mag and one spare 10 rd mag (I live in Kommiefornia) and or a S&W 642 with two HKS speed loaders. For years I carried my Glock 30.
