Just purchased a 629 no dash 6" and trying to select a holster for field/range/hunting use. Purchased a new Bianchi 5BHL and like the holster but the fit is terrible. I have read the wetting the strap information but really don't want to deal with it. What other ideas or suggestions do you have? Maybe a Tommy Threepersons…? Welcome to all suggestions for style and manufacturer. Would love to see some photos. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have an El Paso Saddelry Threepersons for a a 6" n frame that I like really well. Galco DAO is a pretty good one too.

These are if you don't want to go custom.

629 HOLSTERS

This non dash MDL 629 has ridden many a mile in this Tom Threepersons holster from El Paso acquired in the middle '70's when I got the gun. Stocks are coke style Rosewood from Eagle. She is mostly my hog gun but has taken 4 or so deer over the years. Hammer has been jeweled and her sweet trigger was tuned by me, back in the day. She was also MAG-NA-PORTED.:D

hi i have nothing to do with the ad or sale but on ebay there is a bianchi hurricane holster in vgc for your gun. old school quality for a very attractive price i bought a hurricane holster for my 681 and it will outlast 3 lifetimes

If you liked Safariland's old Model 29, El Paso's Model 2 is a near clone. It's what I have for a Model 629. Basketweave and lined.

I def. prefer the lining. It'll save your gun's finish a lot better than an unlined holster.

I also have El Paso Threersons versions like the one pictured earlier in this topic. His photo doesn't do it justice.

But I somewhat prefer the Model 2. I also have that for my M-60-4. Bianchi told me to just try to stretch their three-inch barrel holster, Model 5BHL. That isn't intended for the full lug barrel.

I haven't bought a new Bianchi product since, and no longer recommend their line.

I just got a Simply Rugged Sourdough for my 6 inch Model 57. Great holster that can be carried strong side or cross draw.

Texas Star, I agree that the commercial holsters are no where near the quality of the custom holsters. Custom holster tend to be thicker leather Do you wear your holster on the strong side? Is the 6.5" length to much steel to draw out of the holster or does the holster sit low? any pics you can share. What do you know about R. Grizzle holsters?
