Just what is the Full Endurance Package... I am picking up a 629-2 from a buddy that is unfired with original box.... It looks like it has a very strong frame and unfluted cylinder....

This is not a 629-2E is it ok to shoot full .44 mags in it for hunting purposes?????
Is it just me, or does that gun have the elongated bolt notches? Look at how far forward they extend in front of the bolt ramps. For comparison, here's a picture of a 629-1;

it'll make a fine defense gun.

Don't mean to sound stupid but I have never heard this term, what does OP mean and why does it have extended notches????
The OP's 629 has the elongated bolt notches. The unfluted cylinder was originally to add a bit more weight to decrease recoil.
These both are -2Es.
Is the frame under the crane marked "629-2E" on those guns?
I really want a 629 and need to understand what to look for.
Thanks!

I thought the longer notches indicated it had the endurance package; yet he is saying this is a -2 (not a -2E). I presumed that the longer bolt notches would only appear on -2E's and later (-3, -4, etc).
Mine is definately a -2 not 2E....
