629 Info...

Got my eye on a nice 629-1 at a LGS. The barrel is non-pinned, and its either a 6 or 6 and a half inch barrel. Don't have the SN but I'm curious when these where made and why the barrel is not pinned. Any other info would be appeciated as I think I'm about to pull the trigger (pardon the pun) on this deal.

The pinned barrel and recessed cylinder chambers were dropped at the 629-1 engineering change and that's what makes the no dash 629 so desirable and expensive because they were made for just a few years.

FYIMO... thx, guess why this gun is such a food deal ($600 out the door) and I'm guessin' the barrel is a 6-incher also?
