LGS has a 629 no dash that has a bright finish. Would this revolver have come from the factory with a bright finish, and if so how would the box be marked?
Not original finish. Not many around though.
I won a bid on GB a few months back on a 629 ND 8 3/8 at $1159
and the other day a 4” for $1350 OTD shipped just FYI.
6” is going for about the same as 8 3/8.
You can restore the original finish with scotch brite so I am told by member on here.
Anything much over 1300 - 1400 for the 6” I’d pass
I don't mind altered guns. I got a scratched 629 "Truck gun" and I polished it and had the markings laser engraved back to replace the shallow S&W markings.
At $1000 I’d be standing at the door waiting for them to open up. Check it out for timing and end shake. If all is good I wouldn’t be able to get the cash out of my pocket fast enough !
Found this N-prefix 629 ND on Sunday afternoon at Phoenix Crossroads show December 2023. It was one of three firearms remaining on a private seller's table. Used but clean, tight, and wearing old Pachmayr target grips. After a little back and forth I walked away with it, my wallet lighter by $950. I scrounged a set of football target stocks from the woodpile. Happy to have it and display alongside a pair of 6" 629-4's, SB and RB.
Picked it up today. Box not correct and it had Houge rubber grips. Unable to find a 2 piece box but did find a Model 14 8 3/8 barrel with RR & WO and 3 T's I forgot about.
