Box,Documents,Cleaning kit? All,some/none of the above will make a difference in price. Paid in the $900 range for mine. But that was in 2011-12. Pistol only. Was positive I overpaid at the time......not so much now.

As time marches on clean examples get harder to find and their prices go up due to the law of supply and demand.
For someone that wants to fill out their card on 4" P&R varients you hold your breath for a deal but at this point you have to be ready n willing to pay a premium when one turns up.

That all being said I would not pay a premium for a shooter grade gun because while the P&R feature is neat and unique for SS 629's it is definately not the high water mark in the .44 Magnums design evolution which IMO would probably go to the five inch 629-3 or 629-4 Classic which have the endurance package upgrades, are drilled and tapped for scopes, full underlug barrel which helps tame recoil and quick change front site system, an added bonus is they can usually be had for a lower premium than the 629 no dash.

I have a 629 no dash in 8 3/8 and 6". I too want a 4" only came across a couple but they sold for over 2k on gunbroker.

I've got one without box and docs. I picked it up at a show for $750 a few years ago. I already had a 629-1 that I later sold for a $1,000. Both are/were 4". My 76 year old hands don't handle the .44 mag like they used to but I still shoot a few every now and then and a few .44 specials.

629 ND 4 inch

I haven't made many good decisions on buying/selling guns, but I think this is one of my better ones. Been tempted several times in the past to sell mine but I resisted for some reason. I know they have gone up since I bought mine 40 years ago but what's the right price?
It is tough to tell a man that he paid too much while he has that **** eating grin on his face.
I think 1600 is in the neighborhood for today's prices. Get it and start smiling.

629

The 629s that command the highest collector prices will have the P&R barrel and an "N" serial prefix with 6 digits. These guns were made for only a couple years before the "ABCxxxx" serial numbering system came about. The original 629s were 6" only in 1979 and the 4" & 8 3/8" were introduced in late 1981 and shortly thereafter they went to the ABC serial numbering system.
