629ES grip question

I am thinking about buying one of the 629ES survival kits. One question I have is about the gun's gripframe: square butt or round? I had assumed that it would have a rounded butt like most other recently built Smiths but with the lanyard loop on the butt I kinda wondered. Anyone with knowledge your help would be appreciated. Thanks! Also is the lanyard loop fitting removable?

I think that the lanyard loop you refer to is also the screw that holds the grip on the gun. If you remove the loop, you can substitute a screw of the proper size.

Thanks, I kinda thought that might be the case. I like the gun but might go a different direction on grips.
