Hey all.

I was looking thru some possible carry pistols and came upon the 640 Pro with the fluted barrel. Great looking piece for sure! I'd love to have one to carry. I also really like the 640. I had that on my list as well.

I got to looking back and forth at pics of both of them. Is it just me or does anyone else think the standard m640 has a longer barrel than the 640 Pro?

The 640 looks like it has a barrel near 2 3/4. To my eyes anyway.

Anyone else?

Thanks for the time.

My 640-1 has just over a 2 inch barrel. 2 1/4" I believe it is.

Yep, specification is 2 1/8", but actual barrel length varies a little due to manufacturing tolerances and fitting of the barrel to the frame.

Thanks all.

I was comparing pics of each that I had on my computer. It was the 640 .357 model that I was comparing.

That polished one posted here is gorgeous.

Thanks! Polished by hand while watching a few movies here and there.

Took it to the range yesterday and put the large mono hogue grips on it. Threw fire rings with 125 gr full power .357 rounds. Kicked like a horse but not bad. Put the small boot hogue grips in the picture with exposed backstrap and wow, what a difference, hurt like hell [emoji23]

Here is a link of a video of my coworker shooting it and me catching the fire rings.

Mine wears Uncle Mike's boot grips. Controllable and fast with 38 Special, slightly slower with +P, and a handful with full power 357 Magnum. In my younger days, I fed mine a diet of full power Magnums, 50 rounds was the maximum for a practice session, most sessions were just 20 or 30 rounds.
