Do the exposed hammer J frames have the same double action pull as the concealed hammer DAO 640? I absolutely love my 640's trigger, and I'm curious if the Model 60 has the same trigger feel. Smooth consistent weight, then a drop with no "wall."

I've never measured it, but to my trigger finger, my centennials seem to have an inherently smoother and lighter trigger pull than their exposed hammer brethren.

Yes. Same action so the same surfaces will improve with smoothing/stoning and a spring kit.

I've had the same experience. Of the four or five Centennials I've owned/presently own, all of them have had better feeling triggers than similar exposed hammer models. I've never replaced springs or fiddled with any of them. Fine the way they were when I got them. I've always had trouble double-action shooting a normal J-frame Chief's Special. The .22 Kit Guns have always been somewhere between the two. JMHO.

I like "The Wall"
Makes it easier to stage the trigger pull for a more accurate, deliberate, shot if needed.

I've got three flavors of Centennial. The most recent, a 1996 ex Michigan State Police 640-1 is by far the smoothest. The 1959 vintage Model 40 is on a par with its hammered brethren. The New Departure requires a hefty pull. It definitely stacks.

I don't notice a difference between my J frame triggers, but they've all been tuned up by my gunsmith.

I've never compared one to another before the gunsmith worked on them, I just know that they are unsatisfactory for my purposes without a bit of work.
