Ya, I think Mike got it. Goes sideways in frame and holds firing pin in place. I would remove your firing pin and make sure the spring is in it.

The DA sear spring can be trick to get in place correctly without damaging it.

I’ve looked at the diagrams and tried to find videos but cannot figure out exactly where the firing pin pin goes. I have moved the actual firing pin back and forth and cannot get the pin in the hole where I believe it goes.

Any assistance or explanation would be appreciated!

You have to line-up the firing pin 1/2 moon cut out with that hole in the frame (where the pin goes).

Here's a pic of the 1/2 moon cut out on the FP from ebay I found.

Yes. Line-up the 1/2 moon cut in the FP with that hole. Insert pin. Make sure your FP spiring is on the front of the FP prior to inserting the FP in FP channel or the spring is in the FP channel first.

If you push on the FP and it pushes back, that means the spring is still in there.

Probably would be best. Here's a disassembly video. It's for replacing the lock with a plug, but don't worry about that part.

I replaced the sear spring, firing pin spring, firing pin retainer pin and the spring on the ejector. It works! Like new.
