I have a 642 of recent production. I believe my gun has Uncle Mikes Boot Grips on it.They dont do a bad job but they just seem to leave just a little empty space in my hand. The gun is for pocket carry so I dont want to really add bulk to it by much. What grips do you use on yours if you change to another? Its not that I cant live with it but I would like to make register in my hand a little better for repeatabilty.

I suggest the Hogue "Bantam" rubber grip, which S&W used very effectively on its Model 342PD. For a grip this size, the deep finger grooves provide a secure grasp and overall comfort is above average. Though extended in front, it retains good concealability. And it's light in weight.

REP, I like the S&W magna grips on my 642-1.

So far these Hideout grips from Precision Gun Specialties are my favorites. Modified for speedloaders as per Stephen A. Camp's instructions.

I like the badger grips on my 640 because they have finger grips which fit my hand well and do not interfere with the concealibility factor when using a Desantis pocket holster....God Bless...Mike

I have magnas on my 642, but I added a Tyler-T as well.

I like that setup. This past weekend when I shot the 642 for the first time, it worked well for me.

My 442 came through with Uncle Mikes Combat Grips. Just Right!!! (Unless you want wood grips)
I agree, the Boot Grips are too small.
Best Regards, Pete

YOU could also try Crimson Trace Laser grips. they cover the back strap and your dog or cat will have fun chasing the dot.

I agree. I have the CT 305s on my 642 and they feel a lot better than the boot grips. My whole hand can get around the CTs.

I also prefer the older style wood grips to the current factory rubber grips. But I want "Tyler T" adapters too. Just seems to give me a more secure grip.

I have a Crimson Trace grip set but like using the Barami Hip Grips with a Tyler T-Grip for social settings.

Here is a vote for Pach Compact Pro grips for M442. They are slightly larger than stock and eschuteon screw does not rust. If these are not big enough for your hand, try Pach Compact (not pro) - they are said to be 10% larger.
