I recently had some work done on two firearms and I wanted to share pics with the group. I sent both of my pieces down to Bill Weir of BMCM Custom, down in Natchez MS. It took a long time, but I believe it was definitely worth the wait. I'm not a photographer, so my pics don't do these guns any justice, but this is some damn fine work. I wish I could find the before pics I took of guns so you could get a better understanding of the craftsmanship and quality of the work that was put into these pieces. Both of the holsters are TTGunleathers Reinforce IWB Mike's Special, black leather with black sharkskin trim. Quality leather, guns fit securely, minimal printing and not a lot of fatigue. Both holsters completed and sent back within 3 weeks. I believe his holsters can go toe-to-toe with Kramer, Rosen or Sparks holster.
These were both purchased years ago and I really didn't shoot them much. They were both used and weren't beat to hell. I relatively recently purchased two holsters, as I wanted to start carrying either one of these firearms, so I knew I needed to send these two firearms out to get inspected, and possibly repaired, in order for me to insure that they work flawlessly every time. I started by contacting the Smith & Wesson Performance Center to see what they could do. Well, the mothership said that could handle the 4006, but the master gunsmith's responses to questions about the 645 left me seriously concerned. After that phone call, I started looking around for a gunsmith. After searching through the forum, Weir's name and pics of his work kept coming up. I contacted Bill, had a conversation of what I was looking for and what his process was. Sent my firearms to Bill, had some more conversations with him, took the big step of getting rid of the red ramp, fixed front sight on the 645 and damn if the new front sight looks like it came straight from the Smith factory from times of old. It just works.
