657 Help Please

Hi Guys,

I picked up a new toy that I have been wanting for a long time. It is a 657 (no dash) serial # is AJR 49xx. I have been unable to find a time period when this gun was made.

Can anyone help please? I am looking forward to getting my Aimpoint set up on it and taking it to the woods. Hopefully it will be good deer medicine.

August to September of 1985...with maybe a month overlap on either side?

I have a 6" and it is one of my most accurate N frames. EASILY take deer or antelope with the 210-215 Keith SWC at Medium load or mag load velocities.

I have a AJR48XX in my s/n collection. Pretty close to yours. It's ship date was....

May 16, 1986.

It was also a M657, a 6", product code for those was 103953.
