Finally got to pick her up. Oregon doesn't have a waiting requirement but I think that my wonderful state government has it worked out that instant checks that used to take 5-15 minutes to process took 8 days this time!?!

Was surprised when I went into Cabela's gun library and saw a Pinned and Recessed 66-1 357 magnum! $660 out the door (well I did have to make another trip...). I'm still quite pleased with the price.

And I'm not sure on the grips but they look after market and they feel quite nice. Anyone recognize them?

Lock up feels good and she's so clean that she looks barely fired at all. 92Kxxxx looks like '81 production I believe.

You did exceptionally well, never mind the Fuzzy Farrant grips that are probably $300+. Farrant was one of the LAPD grip makers from the 1970's and you will find many threads here about him. I assume you will get hit up for them.

Well that's good news about those grips. Thanks for the information! My wife commented that she liked the grips and I should not replace them so they're not going anywhere.

Half off sale and then some! Congratulations!

Bargains can still be found if one has good karma on their side. I stumbled on this 3" model 65 Ladysmith for a "buy me now" price of $500 bucks about a month ago.

It happens every 20 years or so........ that's how long it takes me to build up "good karma" I guess........

My good friend and fellow forum member Leland left me a 66-1 when he passed away four years ago. It's got a Leland action job,(he knew how to do it) .400 smooth trigger, Tyler T grip extender, holster, and box and papers. He left the original trigger in the box. It's a great shooter. I sometimes CCW with it in his memory.

While I am not a big fan of the grips, it certainly looks like the gun itself makes up for it! An original set of RB K frame grips should be fairly easily acquired should you want a set. Let us know how she shoots! Good luck with it and happy shooting!

I agree with the evaluation of street value of the Farrant grips, but for some reason, I can’t seem to warm up to them on that particular gun. I may be labeled a Philistine by some, but I’d take advantage of their value and sell them for a tidy sum, then pick up a pair of either factory combats or being the low life I am, buy a set of Thai smooth combats like these. Of course a set of proper vintage factory targets would be appropriate, but they are a less than optimal fit in my hand.

PS Again this is JMHO, but I believe that $300 estimate for Fuzzy’s grips may be a little low!

Wonderful revolver, the grips look like they would be comfortable to shoot, but if their value is what everyone says, sell them and buy a nice set off ebay from Thailand. They are well made and much less expensive replacement. I have several sets on my shooters and like them.

Wow!
Deal of the week!

The Fuzzy Farrant stocks are worth $300+ and the gun $900+

Great score!

The Cabelas in Tualitin?

In Springfield actually.

Took her out a few days ago. She is shooting low and I forgot my screwdriver, set so I'll have to go out again! She might be sighted in for 38 ammo. I'll bring some next time and see what happens.

I have two sets of Thai grips on k frames and one J frame that I really like. It is something to consider as far as putting these up for sale. Still on the fence at best...

I've been on Spegel's revolver list for about 5 years now. So these Fuzzy Farrant ones are my best grips feeling wise. They are a tiny bit slim but they fit really nice in my hands otherwise.

Omg! That is a beauty. You stole it for $660. You need to go to confession. That was a good purchase.
