I posted a WTB on a local gun forum looking for a 2.5" 66. Got a reply this morning from a guy with a 66-1 that said make me an offer.

I said $600 and he said if I drove to him...about 100 miles he'd take it.

He sent me these pics he said he had access to, and would send me a pic of any flame cutting to the top strap when he got off work. From the angle of the pics the top strap doesn't look too bad.

Claims it's tight and has perfect timing.

From the prices I've been seeing on that auction web site, this kinda falls into the too good to be true deal.

Might find out in the next couple days.

I would put more weight on forcing cone erosion than flame cutting, but it looks very clean from the pics. The Magna grips are still on it. Nobody shoots full-house Magnum rounds in a K-Frame for very long with those grips. I'd say it's probably worth the drive and definitely worth the money.

Hoping to pick it up tonight. It's in Orlando off I-4. Anyone who has ever drove thru there....it sucks, but should be worth the drive.

Scam? Where are you meeting? Too good to be true? Just thinking out loud.

It should be noted that the blue plastic case is most likely not original 66-1. HOWEVER a $600 -1 short barrel is a fantastic deal.

I was thinking that all the way on the hour + drive there.

Took my glasses and a flashlight to check it out...if they even showed.

Dude's dad was there waiting for me when I got to the meeting point.

Looked it over and couldn't believe what I was seeing. That was the most enjoyable $600 I'd ever gave to anyone.

Just got home a few minuets ago. And was able to take a serious look at it. I swear it could pass as being unfired. I took a magnifying glass to the entire gun. No cracks or wear on the forcing cone, and the top strap has a thin dark line on it. No damage at all. I'd say it's had maybe a box or 2 at most fired thru it.

I was thinking...got to be hot. Checked Hot Gunz and it's not listed, not that the site is reliable.

Gonna hit it with some Mothers, and will take some pics of it tomorrow in natural light. I'm a photographer and have mass studio lights, but natural light in the shade is the best for stainless guns IMHO.

I knew before hand the box I'd be getting with it.

Damn what a happy day!!!

I think you got a very good deal, 714. My 4'' 66 was stolen by the Federales in Santa Thomas. I surely miss it.

Hello, nice pick, I saw it on a local site, I think? Same discription. I thought it was listed for 700. Great score I have one just like it!
Enjoy!
