686 3"

one eye joe,

When S&W converted it to a 7-shot did they return the original 6-shot cylinder? I bet that old cylinder would also be worth a nice hunk of change to the right person.
YES THEY DID RETURN THE 6 SHOT CYLINDER, KERNEL. I HAVE IT IN MY SAFE. IT'S IN THE SAME CONDITION AS THE REST OF THE REVOLVER, AS I CLEANED THE GUN UP, BEFORE I SENT IT TO S&W. IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN IT, THEY CAN PM ME WITH AN OFFER THAT I CAN'T REFUSE….

Sorry it took so long, but I've had my 686-6 plus back from cylinder and slide for about 3 months now and glad I decided to live without it for the month or so (for the turnaround time, because if God forbid I could only have one handgun it would be it). They boys out west put their signature u notch back sight and the XS big dot night sight on the front. Did a great job too right on point of aim at 25 yards. Here are a couple pics, I would highly recommend their services.

That looks awesome!!!I have the Talo 3-5-7 version. Do you care sharing the cost for the mods they did to your 686.

THAT'S A GREAT JOB. I OFTEN LOOK AT GUNS THAT HAVE FIBER OPTIC, GOLD DOT , OR A BIG DOT NIGHT SITE UP FRONT, AND RETAIN THE STOCK, SQUARE NOTCH REAR SIGHT, AND I JUST SHAKE MY HEAD.

I KNOW THAT, IN MANY INSTANCES, LITTLE CAN BE DONE WITH THE REAR OF A SLICK J-FRAME OR A FIXED SIGHT GUN THAT RELIES ON A CHANNEL MILLED INTO THE TOP OF THE RECEIVER---BUT THIS IS THE REAL DEAL FROM CYLINDER & SLIDE. I COMMEND bfalcon00 FOR SPENDING THE MONEY TO HAVE THE JOB DONE THE RIGHT WAY…...

$142.50 for both front and rear sights and the installation. Plus shipping and some tax I believe having some trouble locating the invoice, but I'll get an exact number or just post the invoice when I find it.

I sure do. This is my daily carry. 3" 686 plus in a Mitch Rosen OWB holster. Wears very close to the body and I have a 1.5" double thick belt from Eric Grandison Golf School - Home Page that works like a charm. I had the hammer bobbed at one time, but I missed it too much so I had it changed back. I have several other guns to choose from for CC but I always come back to this gun, my absolute favorite. The wooden grips are beautiful, but I prefer the feel of the rubber for CC use.
