686-4 7 shot, 4" barrel

This past spring I bought a slightly used 686-4 6" to play in local steel games. Absolutely love shooting the 686 and have been searching for a 4-inch dash 3 or 4 for a while. Just this weekend a sweet, a Nelson Ford-tuned pre-lock pre-MIM 686-4+ 7-shot 4" (serial CAT 99xx, ~early 1996) appeared before me. Came from original owner with blue box, 2 HKS speedloaders, Galco Phoenix holster, and a nice mahogany Kramer horsehide scabbard. $875 OTD. Not cheap but how often do these come around in this condition, right? Very pleased. Now I'm curious to know how many four inch 7-shot dash 4's were made in 1996.

Glad to have a 6". They are hard to find, but many owners don't know they are uncommon and desirable so deals can be had.

Rolling out the 7's...... OP glad you decided to spare yours from the project blackboard.

My fav handgun and will be the last to go: 686-4 + 4”. The best!! I also have a no dash with the 8 3/8 barrel which is a great hunter.

This is my 6" 686 no dash. My best shooter.

This is my 5" 686-6. When did the 686 go to 7 rounds?

I have the opportunity to pick up a 4" 686. Not sure what dash but its a six shooter.

I swore I done but this 4" will be hard to pass up.

This is the 4" no dash I had mentioned above and the 5" should be going up on Gumbroker soon.

So now I wont have a +1 anymore.

Congrats!!

To my mind the dash 4 plus is at the top of the 686 food chain. I was fortunate to stumble upon this 2.5" a while back. Didn't know it was a seven shooter until I got her home. Bonus!!!
