A friend has a 686-4 with 2.5" quad ported barrel and what looks like gray laminate finger groove round butt grips, similar to Badger Grips. I suspect it may be a Performance Center gun, but that would just be a guess. Does any one have information on this revolver; numbers made, price range when in 98% condition with box and papers? Thanks 2Guns

There was a product code 170077. It was a 7-shot, quad Mag-Na-Ports, 2.5-inch M686-4 from the Performance Center. Made in April - June of 1996. They had a "SDL" s/n prefix.

Price, in excellent condition, something in the $700 to $900 range. Deduct $50 to $100 for no box. Not sure how many were made, but I'd guess less than 500. What's the s/n of the gun?

That's the gun, thanks for the info. I don't currently have access to the gun so not sure on the s/n. Do you happen to know if they came with the laminated finger groove grips or would those be something someone added on later?

Kernel is right with the product code. Was a stocking dealer exclusive would guess 500 and under made. All SDL serial prefix. Yes the original grips were wood laminate similar to badger but made by smith Wesson grip co. In 98 percent condition with matching box and paperwork easily 2300 gun. Kernel you way off on your prices lol. Wish they could be found that cheap. Even loose 98 percent seen one bring 1875 recently on gunbroker.
