Looking for a price check on a 686-4, 7 shot, 4" revolver. I believe it's has a round butt, but is presently equipped with LG308 laser grips that make it look like a square butt. Super clean, no box or papers. I'm thinking about $700 with Hogue monogrips, and $850 with the laser grips?

That's the EXACT 686 I'm currently looking for, $700 would be around the max I would spend shipped, if it was really clean. As for the laser grips, it would really depend on how bad you want them. I can't see spending $150 for laser grips on that revolver IMO

I picked up a super clean 686 -4 4" with original box, manual and unused warrantee card for $550. Note: this is a 6 shooter not 7 but I thought it was a fair price for a -4 with only about 200 rounds through it. I got it from a State Trooper friend of a friend. Good luck in your search.

$550 is a good price for a -4 or earlier 4" in my opinion if it has the original wood stocks. Deduct $50 for non-factory stocks.

The recent market price is $650-$750.

In this market, $550 is a steal and would have many offers.

Just bought a dash 4 plus 4" for $650 shipped.

Most of the 686's I have seen are going in mid-500's to 700 range. The ones approaching 700 usually have "extras", like the original grips + some Ahrend's or other higher quality grips.

The 686 is a very popular revolver, so they are not rare. It is quite easy to "wait it out" and get one in the 600-ish range.

Asking 700 is not out of the ballpark, but you should be willing to deal down, and don't be offended if you receive offers significantly below 700 for the basics (gun w/o laser grips).
