In short, I'm looking for a reliable ammo source at good prices.

Specifically, .38 special, +P & magnum loads. There are so many bullet manufactures out there (Fiocchi, Magtech, Agulia) and all sorts of websites.

Which ones should I use without having to worry about bullet quality or dealing with undesirable websites.

If you're looking for cheap .38 ammo for plinking, I recommend WWB (Winchester White Box) at your local WalMart.

All those ammunition manufactures you named make fine products. Some might be a little better then others, and some might shoot a little better in your gun. Same with Dregg's recommendation regarding WWB. Frankly, I think it might be a challange to find ammunition that is really a problem. (Although there are one or two headstamps worth avoiding.) Regarding internet sites: AIM Surplus is one of several (many?) that have provided exceptionally good service for years. J&G, Midway, Natchess, Graff, Powder Valley, Ammoman...I've had good dealings with all of these and a few more I can't remember. You're better off asking which sites have been problematic, and there are probably some out there.

I just purchased 1,000 rds of CCI Blazer .38 Special for target practice. I understand that Blazer gets a little dirty, but it goes bang when you pull the trigger. I placed my order with Luckygunner.com on Tuesday, and it was delivered on Thursday, so turnaround time on orders was outstanding.

The cheapest way to buy ammo is in bulk lots. And in my opinion, the cheapest RELIABLE source for this is http://www.mastercast.net. Check them out. I have fired off almost 10,000 (stopped counting) of their reloads, and I recommend them (As do others on this net, and other nets). Save your brass and send it to them in exchange to save even more. I send mine in USPS Priority Mail containers for huge shipping savings.
