I have aquired a 686 competitor ( wife bought for christmas).
I have shot 3 pratice sessions (matches) of action pistol, each time i have improved my scores. 1: 42.7 2: 46.8 3: 52.8 % , the reason why I got the 686 was I shot a borrowed one from a friend and tied his score but lost to him he had one more x than i did. and fell in love with the pistol. shot in a Shriners Provost competition. since i have I would like to get into bullseye comps . would this pistol be allowed? I also reload for this as well as other cal's

If you are shooting one handed for Bullseye that one will be tough to use because of the heavy barrel. This gun works very well for PPC and NRA Action Pistol (Bianchi Cup) in the Metallic or Open class.

686 OK for bullseye.

I respectfully disagree. One of the top Bullseye shooters in my area uses one as well as few others who shoot at the weekly local match. The heavy barrel is not a problem. Semi auto shooters add weight to their frames to reduce muzzle flip (model 52's have provisions for them). You have to be quick if shooting single action in the rapid fire round or you can install a Wilson spring kit and shoot double action. Revolvers are more accurate than semi's and are less prone to score reducing alibis. IMHO
