Quick question. I have a '82 (or '83) 6" 686. When I heard about the recall, I sent it in and it's now a -M. Would it be considered a no dash due to age or the mod now puts it in the dash group?

It will always be no dash. Modifications can't change that. How it will affect its value would be determined by the the buyer/collector who might buy it. I have one without the "M" and have had no problems. I have no intention of having it modified. Great revolver, isn't it?

Well I bought it several years ago for $175. Not thinking about resell, I read about the recall and sent it in. I do like this revolver.

It sounds as though all of these revolvers mentioned have been fired and probably fired a little more. I doubt for these guns it will matter whether it has the mod or not.

Now if it were unfired, and a collector wanted it for a collection then it might make a difference.

All of the above is just my opinion. My Model 686-1 has the M, and I take very good care of it and doubt it would be of interest to a true collector.
