I have a 686+ (686-4) and when shooting it DA after the cyl stops turning and befor the hammer drops it has a tight spot. so after cleaning it and lubing and dry firing it with the cover off i see that the hand is rubbing between the cyl and the frame. it looks as if the cyl needs to turn just a little more? if you look at the pictures you can see just a little of the top of the last notch on the extractor sticking out. is that suppost to be that way? any info would be great Thanks

My screen won't let me see your picture well but what you describe sounds like the bolt is dropping into the stop notch While the hand is still pushing the cylinder. If the cylinder is indeed locked when you feel what you describe you're ok. It'll smooth with use. Just means your hand is plenty long. Shooting is in order!!!

By the way.....I have noticed what you describe more with the + model than the six shot. It's because the hands are the same but there is less space between the ratchet notches.

You're good to go.....get out there and BURN POWDER!!!!
